Llama the Psychic predicts Chelsea will beat Bayern Munich in Champions league final

Move aside Paul the Octopus, a football mad llama has been tipped to become the next match-predicting global phenomenon after correctly guessing the result of the FA Cup final. The South American llama currently lives at Ashdown Llama Park in east Sussex and has tipped Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea side to defeat German giants Bayern Munich in the upcoming Champions League final. His owners discovered the domesticated animal's unique talent for predicting the successful outcome of football matches earlier this month. After struggling to agree on the outcome of the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool, the park owners decided they would leave it to the llama to pick the result instead. The llama is given the option of picking between two coloured balls placed on top of two wooden polls which represent each side. To signal his choice, the llama, whose favourite player of all-time is bushy haired Colombian footballing legend Carlos Valderrama, head-butts his chosen ball of its stand. 'We always knew there was something special about him,' revealed Linda Johnson, owner of the llama park. 'He has always been an opinionated character and has a love of football – his favourite player is fellow South American, Carlos Valderrama. 'He’s attracted so much attention at the park since the last match, so who knows what will happen if he gets it right again!' The park will ask the mystic llama to predict the results of England’s Euro group matches this summer if he calls the correct result this weekend. Credit:Metro News UK

Rwandan soccer star Patrick Mafisango dies in car crash

Rwandan football is mourning the loss of international Patrick Mafisango, 32.Mafisango, part of Rwanda’s squad for next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Algeria, died in a car accident on Thursday morning in Dar es Salaam. The midfielder played for Tanzanian champions Simba and had just returned from Sudan, where his side lost a Confederation Cup match this weekend.“It is very sad for all of us - we are devastated,” Rwanda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredrojevic told BBC Sport.“This is a player who had a future for the national team and his career as well.“He has played six games for Simba in the Confederation Cup so is a player who could have been great value to our team,” added the Serb.Mafisango died in the small hours of Thursday morning in an accident involving a motorcycle, as the car he was driving veered off the road and crashed into a trench. The holding midfielder, the third top scorer in Tanzania this season with 12 goals, was called up by Rwanda coach Sredrojevic for June’s 2014 World Cup qualifiers. This marked his international return after a year on the sidelines, having fallen out with former head coach Sellas Tetteh.“When a player from a defensive midfield position scores 11 goals in the league and becomes the best scorer in the Tanzanian league - and plays very well in the Confederation Cup - then he has called himself into the national team,” added Sredrojevic. The Wasps travel to Algeria on the weekend of 2-3 June for their opening Group H tie, before hosting Benin the following weekend.Mafisango, who Sredrojevic says was attracing interest from a Dutch club in recent days, was born in DR Congo and played for TP Mazembe before joining Rwandan giants APR FC.A man nicknamed ‘Patriot’ also played for Atraco of Rwanda and Tanzania’s Azam before joining Simba, who lost their Confederation Cup match to Al Ahly Shandy in Sudan on penalties this weekend.

Abdul Majid Waris, did Kwesi Appiah see him?

By Edmund Okai Gyimah I usually don’t talk about the selection of a coach until after a game but I am compelled to talk after watching Tamale-born and Hartpury University college graduate Abdul Majid Waris hit 5 for his club Hacken in the Swedish elite division yesterday evening. As I was surfing the internet yesterday evening, one of my boys playing in Sweden sent me a link to watch the Hacken Vs Norrkoping live and I must say I really enjoyed the game. I have personally monitored Majid Waris right from his “Right to Dream” Academy days to his university education at Hartpury University College in England where he played alongside the likes of other Ghanaians such as Leeds Canergie FC’S Aga Bossman Briandt, Sam Mensah Laryea and Isaac Tello of Ostersunds Bk for the All-England Universities Football team and i can confidently say his talent is never in doubt. There is no doubt that along with Sassuolo’s Richmond Boakye Yiadom they are Ghana’s most in form strikers in Europe at the moment and one cannot fathom why both Majid and Boakye did not make Kwesi Appiah’s Black Stars list. Pure magic as I will term it, Abdul Majid Waris single handedly destroyed Norrkoping by banging in 5 goals in their 6-0 win bringing his tally to 12 in the still young Swedish league. Blessed with both feet and immense aerial ability, Majid netted in the 5th, 13th, 44th, 52nd and 66th minute to emerge as man of the match as he also took home the match ball. Frankly, it is about time new Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah cast his net wider as there are so many talented Ghanaian players in Scandinavia particular Sweden where the likes of Bargamossen Kattorp’s Jeff Ofori are all performing wonders and can help the country in the qualifiers. Is Dominic Adiyiah who is still trying to find his feet in Arsenal Kiev better than the in form 20 years old Abdul Majid Waris? ...........over to you Joe Lartey.
