Inter Milan could be missing the skillful Brazilian player due to an injury as they leave to London for the Emirates Cup friendly tournament.

The Brazilian player could be out for up to a month after suffering a suspected muscular strain in his quadriceps.

The ace Milan Ronaldinho had to abandon training on Wednesday night after he complained of feeling a twitch in one of his flexor muscles, and it doesn’t look good.

Voices from Milan suggest he will have a scan later to determine the extent of the injury.

The Rossoneri have stayed quiet over the damage, but their official website have confirmed the possibility of the player undergoing further medical tests.

However, his ruling out for a month will be putting Milan’s preparations for the new season, which kicks off at home to Lecce on the weekend of August 28/29, under strain.

Sunderland expect to complete John Mensah deal after his loan last season from Lyon.

Interest in Gyan has gone down a bit as West Ham are trying to sign Loic Remy and Sunderland seem to have moved away. No premier league club will match Fenerbahce’s £12.5m offer and that means that if he does not go to Turkey, he could end up staying in France.

Kevin Prince-Boateng is still linked with a move to Italy. He was given extra holiday by Portsmouth after the World Cup. It is a slow transfer market and not much money, so it is no surprise that that deal is dragging its heels.A middling premier league club could come in for him.

At the moment most teams in England seem to be waiting for Man City to spend their money before going in for players knowing also that City may have to reduce their squad because of new rules in England.

It has been rumored for the past three weeks that Mr.Kwabena Kesse, owner and bankroller of Kessben FC has sold his Kumasi based club and the Anane Boateng Stadium also sold to Red Bull Soccer Academy.Rumour also has it that Sekondi Sports Stadium might be the new home ground for Kessben but according to the source, there is no iota of truth in the allegation and so no seriousness should be given to the rumor.

Mr.Kesse has not come out to deny or confirm the sale of the club but people closer to him have confirmed that he has not sold the club as rumored.

However another source has confirmed that here has been proposals from a top first division club to buy stakes in Kessben FC.

More to follow.

‘It is clear some of the players we have will have to be left off,’ said boss Roberto Mancini.

Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum is expected to be limited at the start of training camp after undergoing successful surgery on his right knee Wednesday.

Bynum had arthroscopic surgery in New York to repair a partially torn ligament. The 7-foot center initially discovered the tear in his meniscus during the Lakers’ first-round playoff series against Oklahoma City.

Bynum postponed surgery during the Lakers’ run to their second straight NBA title, starting each of the Lakers’ 23 postseason games while averaging 8.6 points and 6.9 rebounds. His knee injury and a strained Achilles’ tendon limited his movement and stamina, but Bynum refused to miss out on the postseason experience after sitting out Los Angeles’ 2008 run with a dislocated left kneecap.

Bynum’s knee was drained twice during the NBA finals, and again after the season. The fifth-year pro then made a trip to South Africa for the World Cup, and Bynum later delayed his surgery for a few weeks to fit his surgeon’s schedule.

Although Bynum had said his recovery time was expected to be short, the Lakers said in a news release Wednesday that Bynum will be available “on a limited basis” when training camp opens Sept. 25. Los Angeles is opening training camp earlier than usual to get ready for exhibition games in Barcelona and London.

The Lakers expect Bynum to be fully recovered before the regular season begins.

Relatives and friends of Lorenzen Wright gathered Wednesday and grieved for the former NBA player who has been missing for 10 days, as police investigated the discovery of a man’s body outside of Memphis.

Wright’s uncle, Curtis Wright, told The Associated Press that police called the player’s father, Herb Wright, Wednesday afternoon with the news he had died.

Sgt. Alyssa Macon-Moore of the Memphis Police Department wrote in an e-mail to the AP that police were investigating the death of an unidentified man beside a wooded area about 15 miles south of downtown Memphis. Asked if the man was Wright, she wrote they could not confirm the victim’s identity Wednesday night.

The family issued a statement through a cousin of Lorenzen Wright, Camella Logan: “Lorenzen’s family has come together to mourn his loss and honor his legacy. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers and condolences as they are comforting at this very difficult time. Additionally, we ask that you please respect our privacy as we try to cope with his sudden loss.”

Wright’s mother, Deborah Marion, arrived at the scene Wednesday night with a handful of family members. She crossed the crime scene tape and tried to talk to police when she was told to move back. She sat in a TV van before returning to the tape. Two officers then let her through.

The distraught Marion then started running down the road toward the crime scene before being stopped by an officer. She spoke with officers, then walked back past reporters without speaking straight to a van.

The 34-year-old Wright was last seen July 18 when he was expected to fly out of town. His family filed a missing person report July 22.

Wright played 13 years in the NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and most recently the Cleveland Cavaliers with 17 games in the 2008-09 season. Wright left the University of Memphis early for the NBA, and the Clippers made him a lottery pick with the No. 7 selection overall.

He averaged eight points and 6.4 rebounds in 778 career games.

By nightfall, nearly 200 people had visited the road blocked off by police while TV news helicopters showed investigators scouring the grounds for evidence. Police brought in a mobile command center that further blocked off the scene.

Former NBA star Penny Hardaway, who played at Memphis two years before Wright, said he heard the news from a friend and went to the scene near where the body was found.

“I cried. The emotions hit me immediately. It’s just sad because we lost a good person and a brother,” Hardaway said.

Elliot Perry, another friend and former Memphis player, also was at the scene. Wendy Wilson, who once worked as Wright’s personal assistant, also was there and said Wright often used the road police had cordoned off as a shortcut to his mother’s house.

“He was a good person. He did not deserve to die this way. God is not pleased with this,” Wilson said.

Memphis Grizzlies majority owner Michael Heisley issued a statement late Wednesday saying, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Lorenzen Wright. We lost a member of the Grizzlies family. Lorenzen delighted fans on the court with his passion and off the court with his generosity in a Memphis community that watched him grow throughout his playing career …”

Top seed Nikolay Davydenko eased into the quarter-finals of the Studena Croatia Open in Umag with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Frenchman Stephane Robert.

Davydenko, who has struggled for form since his comeback from a serious wrist injury, needed just 53 minutes to seal his place in the last eight.

Former world number one and fourth seed Juan Carlos Ferrero came from a set down to defeat Uruguay’s Pablo Cuevas 4-6 6-4 6-4.

“I expected a tough match,” Ferrero said.

“I beat him in three straight sets in May at Roland Garros, but it was tough. So I was ready today.”

And there were also wins for sixth-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who beat Croatian wild card Franco Skugor 7-6 (7-1) 6-3, and Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Chela who beat qualifier Simone Bolelli 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (4-7) 6-1.

Andy Murray last night explained his split from coach Miles Maclagen. ‘We had a chat in Miami and saw things differently,’ said Murray.

‘It was not the nicest decision to take, but it wasn’t tough. It was easy when I saw how far apart we were. It comes down to business and me achieving my goals. I want to be No 1.’

‘I don’t think I need to make huge changes in my game. I just need to become a better player all around. ‘ I’ve had good results against (Roger) Federer. I’ve beaten (Rafa) Nadal a couple of times in slams. I’ve been to the latter stages of quite a few slams.’

Murray, who has previously been coached by Briton Mark Petchey and American Brad Gilbert, has yet to win a grand slam title despite several close calls in recent years.

In the 2008 U.S. Open final he was taken apart by Federer and he fell to the Swiss master again in this year’s Australian Open final.

Earlier this month, Murray was beaten 6-4 7-6 6-4 by Spanish World No 1 Nadal in the last four at Wimbledon.

‘It’s easy to start over-thinking things and over-analysing things’ said Murray, who reached a career-high second in the rankings in August last year.

‘I don’t think there’s a problem with my game. ‘I just need to get better, and that’s something that maybe hasn’t happened the last four or five months. Hopefully by getting a new coach and a new coaching team in place, that will help me do that, and hopefully achieve my goals.’

Looking calm and composed in front of reporters in a navy suit and a fresh trimmed beard, Diego Maradona unequivocally accused his former friend, Carlos Bilardo for his demisal as Head Coach of the Argentina National team.

As emotion began to get better of him, he said “we were still mourning after the Germany game, he (Bilardo) was working in the shadows to get rid of me”.

Emhpazing that, “Whoever looks a little closer knows that the betrayal was lurking right around the corner from the team in South Africa.”

AFA head Julio Grondona also had his share of the legend strong words whom he claimed lied to him as well was outraged at the charade his two targets carried out when requesting a list of players for the upcoming friendly against Ireland.

“It was all a trick, because Bilardo and ‘Humbertito’ had it all arranged. In the dressing room, with players and witnesses all around, he said to me that I was going to continue… but he and Bilardo had already fired me then”,he stated.

Diego then revealed the final straw was on Monday, when he met with Grondona to define his future.

Firing on the verge of tears, Maradona indicated that he could have carried on, but can’t “without seven of my backroom staff”.

However, Diego Maradona insisted that, “I defend my people. And I am not going to change because I have values and a moral code, and these people do not.”
